Ms. Wang graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia
(UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. She studied both Building Engineering
and Architectural Design and has a strong foundation in both the
technical and aesthetic elements of design. While balancing a busy
school schedule, she gained work experience at Jordi Marce
Arquitectes S.L., an international architectural firm based in
In 2017, Weiliang came to New York City as an intern at Goldstick Lighting Design. There, she learned lighting basics and enjoyed visiting manufactures and attending events like Lumen Awards. She was amazed by the beauty of lighting in architectural design.
Over the last two years her architectural experience has leaned toward mayor projects. She has been directly involved in many educational, multi-family, airport, landscape and recreational projects. In 2018, Weiliang held a temporary position at HOK, working on construction administration for the LaGuardia Airport expansion project, where she learned how to handle complex assignments and communicate with various stakeholders during the project.
Soon after, Weiliang was hired by Domingo Gonzalez Association as a Junior Lighting Designer. This opportunity encouraged her to pursue her career in architectural lighting design. Her interests spanned many aspects of the firm’s work, and she learned from every task. In a very short time, she was able to impress the DGA team with her diligence, responsiveness, and ability to acquire new skills.
Ms. Wang joined Cooley Monato Studio in 2019 to continue learning from her co-workers, always with a “Client First” philosophy in mind, and a willingness to take ownership of projects. Her responsibilities at CoMoS comprise supporting senior staff and principals through all project phases, from Schematic Design to Construction Administration.
