Mr. Moan received a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University in New York, where he studied theatrical lighting design. His interest in lighting started at a very young age and has continued to this day. At Fordham, Mr. Moan worked on numerous performances both in school and at several playhouses in the tri-state area. He received an honorable mention for his project “The Heart of a Confident Man” in the 2011 IESNYC student competition.

Mr. Moan made the transition from theatrical to architectural and landscape lighting design shortly after completing his undergraduate degree. At Orsman Design Inc. he worked on high-end residential and landscape lighting projects as Project Manager and Junior Designer. From there he enrolled in the M.Arch / MFA dual degree program at Parsons, The New School for Design.

While at Parsons, Mr. Moan worked for Kiss + Cathcart Architects in Brooklyn, NY, and Lightbox Studios in Manhattan. He started his internship with Cooley Monato Studios in June of 2019, where he assists the designers with calculations, mock ups, and other tasks as they arise.
